Creating a network link between different locations (VPN)

If your business operates in more than one location, you will know how difficult it can be keeping track of everything. You may have considered networking your sites together, but been put off by the idea that it is too expensive or too complicated.

Well, fortunately it needn't be either of them. By using the Internet to enable a secure connection between sites, you can create a cost-effective network connection between your operating sites, no matter how far apart they are.

For more details on how such a connection would work, see the section on Virtual Private Networks (VPNs) in our "Accessing your files when away from the office" section.

At Westcountry Business, we recommend using our Westcountry Business Small Business Server to create secure site to site connections. By having one of these servers at each site, you not only get the secure connection you need, but provide each site with all the functionality that our Small Business Server provides, such as e-mail, file sharing, controlled Internet Access and more.

Alternatively, we also provide a hardware based solution. We recommend the use of the Snapgear range of products to provide dedicated, reliable, secure VPN connections.
